Training Programmes

We offer three levels of online cycling coaching plan ideal for every rider whether you are training for your first sportive or elite racing. Each programme is for a 4-week cycling coaching plan, totally customised to your needs, the different prices reflect the levels of feedback and coach interaction offered.  

If you don't see what you require then contact us for an informal chat to discuss your needs.
Unlike many coaching companies there is no set up fee and discounts are available for 6 and 12 month periods when paid in advance.

Our cycling coaching plans can be used in conjunction with early seasonal cycling camps organised by our sister company Cycle Alpujarra.


Level 1 Cycling Coaching plan

£75

  • Monthly Email Consultation & Reassessment
  • Initial consultation to establish your training goals, cycling history, time availability and any other needs such as body composition measurement, diet analysis and prescription, followed by:

  • Creation of a yearly periodisation plan based upon your goals and daily detailed training prescription.

  • Email contact on receipt of the plan to check understanding and in the final week to reassess your progress and customise the next block of training.

Level 2 Cycling Coaching plan

  • Weekly Email Consultation and Reassessment
  • Initial consultation to establish your training goals, cycling history, time availability and any other needs such as body composition measurement, diet analysis and prescription, followed by:

  • Creation of a yearly periodisation plan based upon your goals and daily detailed training prescription.

  • Weekly email contact (minimum one coach initiated email conversation per week, rider initiated email contact for feedback encouraged!).

  • Weekly review of key race/training power meter files and/or heart rate monitor information via TrainingPeaks WKO5 software.

  • Weekly training session modification as necessary.

  • Event-based nutrition advice.

Level 3 Cycling Coaching plan

  • Daily Pro Level Training Feedback
  • Fully individualised 4-week training plan reviewed and modified daily with daily power meter file review and unlimited email, phone, Whatsapp feedback (limited availability).
  • Initial consultation to establish your training goals, cycling history, time availability and any other needs such as body composition measurement, diet analysis and prescription, followed by:

  • Creation of a yearly periodised training plan based upon your goals and key races.

  • Daily detailed training prescription.

  • Daily power meter file review and feedback using TrainingPeaks WKO5 with daily training session modification as necessary.

  • Nutrition, pacing strategy and equipment selection advice.

  • Unlimited coach contact as and when required via email, telephone or Skype/Whatsapp for international clients.

Youth and Junior Cycling Coaching

Many top riders begin their careers at an early age. We recognise that Youth and Junior riders have different needs to adults and we offer additional support and mentorship to help fulfil your potential and help navigate the changing demands as you move through the age categories. We advocate that younger riders try all cycling disciplines, both to explore what they enjoy and are suited to, and to gain valuable transferable skills in other aspects of the sport. As well as the immediate demands of the Youth or Junior age category we look to develop the areas needed to develop in the Under 23 and senior ranks as you progress.

Athlete Testing

PERFORMANCE TESTS

Fitness testing is available at our Birmingham premises. Custom Cycle Coaching has over 10 years of experience in providing physiological testing and support for athletes of all levels as well as for scientifically published research at Oxford University. Testing is done on your own bike and power meter where possible to maximise real-world relevance.

Blood Lactate

A 'step test' for accurate determination of power and heart rate training zones to make the most of your training. This involves a series of short periods of increasing intensity riding with a small blood sample at the end of each step to measure just how hard you're working. You will receive a full report outlining the results, training zones and recommendations for your training.

Body Composition Analysis

Following the standards of the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK) to determine your body composition using the skinfold measurement technique to give an accurate measure of fat and lean body mass.

Nutrition Analysis

Using a food diary to assess your current habitual diet on training, rest and competition days and suggest improvements.
